Screening Questions Changed

The Ministry of Education has revised their provincial COVID-19 school screening tool for children/students, effective October 1st, 2020. Located on the board's website is a PDF document for children/students to use offline.  It is attached.

Key changes for children/students:
Eliminates a few symptoms as reasons to stay home, such as stomach aches.
Provides 2 categories of symptoms:
1. Symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath and decrease or loss of smell and taste - if a child has one of these four symptoms - requires a visit to the doctor
2. Minor symptoms - If child has only 1 of the symptoms - stay home for 24 hours from when the symptoms started (no doctor visit required) - If child has 2 or more of these minor symptoms - requires a visit to the doctor

The online School and Child Care Screening tool can still be used for school staff and visitors as well.  Once they indicate that they are an employee or visitor, it will take them to a series of questions specific to staff…
