·       Art club is cancelled tonight.

 

·       Attention all members of the senior boys soccer team. Practices this week will be Wednesday at 2:30 and Thursday at 5:30... both in the gym. That's Wednesday at 2:30 and Thursday at 5:30.

 

·       Attention Wildcats:

Tomorrow you will have a chance to show your support to our Best Buddies program and help those in need. Best Buddies provides social support to students with Special Needs. Bring in $2 and 3 cans you can dress down and help support this awesome cause! We encourage you on this day to also Rock Your Socks for World Down Syndrome Day. Wear your craziest socks when you dress down!

 

·       The next Sr. Girls soccer practice will be tomorrow at the Novelletto Complex from 2:45-4:00. Please bring $5.

 

·       Students who wrote the Waterloo math contest on February 28th can obtain your results from Miss Baltrusiunas or Mrs. Hyland.

 

·       Last call!

Any Grade 12 students who are currently or have previously took SCH4U chemistry and would like to write the Chem News exam contest on May 11 2017, please sign up ASAP on the list outside of room 228.

 

·       This is a reminder to all Junior Boys' Hockey players that permission slips and fees for the London Cup are due Wednesday.  Please give them to Mr. Talerico at practice or sometime throughout the day. 

 

  • To all Europe travelers.  Ms. Bastien and Mrs. Voegeli would like to thank you for an outstanding trip.  The success of our journey was entirely possible because of the extraordinary caliber of students that you all are.  Your enthusiasm, curiosity, sense of comradery and openness to explore new opportunities helped to create unforgettable memories.  You made us as teachers proud and represented our school in the best way possible, with kindness, smiles, fellowship.

·      All music rehearsals will be resuming this week. Junior band on Monday, choir on Tuesday, jazz band on Wednesday and senior concert band on Thursday. All rehearsals run until 4pm.

 

·      Reminder to all boys trying out for the Baseball Team that the next practice is today  at 4pm in the gym.  Thank You!

 

·      Attention jr and sr badminton team members practice resumes tonight at 5:30 for the sr. team and tomorrow for the jr team at 4:00.  Check the schedule and calendar outside the phys-ed office for practice times for the next 2 weeks. 

 

·      Junior boys soccer tryouts begin tomorrow Tuesday march 21st.  tryouts will take place at 6:30am sharp indoors in the gym.  please use the phys.ed entrance.  again junior boys soccer tryouts begin tomorrow morning at 6:30 am in the gym.

·       There is a junior concert band rehearsal tonight after school.

 

·       The Villanova senior concert band achieved Silver in Music Fest London yesterday. They performed three pieces of contrasting style. The many hours of rehearsal have paid off for the group of 35 musicians.  Mark your Calendars for May 17th where you can hear this award winning band. Congratulations to all the members.

 

·       Congratulations goes out to Luca Chiandussi who beat his personal best at OFSSA these past two days! And Billy Grebe who took home the gold in 50 M freestyle and silver in 100 m free style swim! Congrats to all swimmers who were part of this years team! We will have a team photo after March break. Thank you to Coach- Cody Fields, teacher moderators Mrs Ibrahim and Mrs Chiandussi and a helping hand Mr Gombai.

·       Today in the La Villa Nova Cafe we are offering Jumbo PIzza Slices and Grilled Chicken Caesar Wraps and Garden Salad.  Hope to see there.

·      Attention all boys (grade 9 -12) interested in trying out for this year’s baseball team.  The first practice is tonight at 2:30pm in the gym.  Please bring clean running shoes, hats and gloves.

 

·      The LCC is closed today due to the blood drive.

 

·      Any senior science student that would like to visit the Ontario Science Centre for biology or chemistry-themed activates and presentations are asked to see Mrs. Russo or Mr. Carosella this week for information. This invitation includes those students who took science last semester.

 

·      Any grade 11 chemistry student, including those that took the course last semester, are invited to write the University of Waterloo's Avogadro exam. Please see Mr. Carosella for details.

 

·      Did you know that there are now 4 new names of elements on the periodic table? If you like science and art, here's your chance to do both. The University of Waterloo is holding a contest to design a graphic square for the new elements as part of an international periodic table project. See Mr. Carosella in room 225 or the science office for details.

 

·      Did you ever want to study science abroad, such as in New York, Boston, France or Spain? How about for a semester at the Ontario Science Centre or even just for a couple of weeks this summer at McMaster University? All of this is possible. See Mr. Carosella in room 225 or the science office for details about these unique study opportunities.

 

·      The cafeteria will be closed on Thursday morning between 7:30 am -8:30 am for the Great Start Breakfast.

·       Villy weight room will be closed today Monday March 6.

 

·       This is a reminder that there will be a Junior Boys' Hockey tryout after school today at 3:30pm.  If you are unable to make the tryout please see Mr. Talerico sometime throughout the day.

 

·       A big thank you to all those who signed up to donate blood tomorrow, Tuesday March 7th.  The blood drive will be held in the LCC. Stay hydrated, get a good night's sleep, eat a good breakfast and remember to bring picture ID with you tomorrow. Student cards are acceptable.  To anyone still wishing to sign up please see Ms. Russo in the science prep room or room 224.

 

·       Attention all girls who plan on attending the Sr. Girls soccer tryouts tonight and Wednesday: the time of the tryouts has been moved to 2:45 until 4 o'clock. Please attempt to go straight to the Novelletto Complex immediately after school today. Don't forget to bring $5 and your own soccer ball.

·      Congratulations to the following Villanova Dance Team dancers for performing yesterday at the WE day celebration for 1,000 elementary students.  They represented the Villanova spirit with excellence, commitment and passion.  Choreographed by Lauren Carlini and the dancers were Isabella Bobbie, Macaela Carlini, Samantha Crispo, Sbrina Fryer, Jessica Savoni, Devyn Kummer, Paige Docherty, Alana Dubee, and Jessica Stewart.  I was very proud to be a part of this experience. ·      This is a reminder that Junior Boys Hockey tryouts begin today at 3pm at the Vollmer Complex.  This tryout is open to all Grade 9 and 10's.  If you cannot make it please see Mr. Talerico some time throughout the day. 

 

·      Attention any girls who plan on trying out for the Sr. Girls soccer team: Tryouts will take place next Monday and Wednesday at the Noveletto Complex from 3-4:30 pm.  If you haven't signed up yet for tryouts please see Mr. Corazza in room 218 as soon as possible.

 

·      Congratulations to our Villanova curling team on winning the honorable 'Ed Sweringa sportsmanship award’ yesterday in WECSSAA finals. This is a prestigious award that reflects a team’s true heart and dedication to not only the game but to all players in the sport. It is an award that players select the winner themselves without coach’s advisement. Way to go Villanova on showing what a true Wildcat is 2 years in a row.

 

·      All senior boys basketball members are to bring in their clean uniform to Mrs. Grondin by Monday March 6th in room 230.

 

·      Junior badminton tryouts continue tonight.  Girls at 2:30 and boys at 4:00.
