Announcements December 15, 2014

·        Over the weekend the Sr Girls Volleyball team competed at the Amherst Tournament.  During pool play the Sr Wildcats went 7 & 3 leaving them in second place in our pool.  In the semi final we matched up against a very tall Holy Names team but your Wildcats were determined and with solid defence and impressive hitting by Sarah Altenhof, we defeated the Knights 19-25, 25-16, 15-13.  This put us in the finals against Ursuline College who beat us in pool play 2 games straight.  Being a bit beat up from playing 13 sets of volleyball, we still managed to make a very strong and impressive squad from Chatham work for every point.  However, our tired legs weren't willing and we lost the finals 19-25, 25-19, 8-15.  Congratulations to the members of the Sr Girls Volleyball Team for playing with heart and for never giving up.  See you at practice at 2:30 tonight.

·        Chess club will meet tomorrow after school in room 132. New members always welcome!

·        The Villanova Music Department is having a Music Concert tomorrow night at 7 pm. The concert band, jazz band, grade nine music class, the vocal music class and choir will be performing. A donation is accepted at the door.

·        Attention all music students involved in tomorrow's concert, tonight after school is the dress rehearsal. Attendance is mandatory.

·        Not to be outdone, Krysten Swiatoschik manned the nets for the girl’s hockey team after the prior day's shutout and battled through an early injury to shut out Holy Names 3-0.  Taylor Conte led the offensive attack with a hat trick and assists going to Allison Langille, Sara Mayrand and Carli Dumeah.  Next up for the ladies is Chatham-Kent in tournament play starting Monday. (As of this posting, the girls defeated Chatham-Kent 3-2.  Goal scorers were Jaclyn Yewchen, Taylor Conte, and Mandy Brunet.)
