·       Students that are interested in writing the University of Toronto National Biology Competition this year, the signup sheet is located on the door to room 223.


·       If you enjoy singing and would like to learn how to sing in an ensemble, choir rehearsals will resume on Tuesday after school in the music room.  New Members are welcome.


·       The weight room will be closed today after school. Workouts will resume on Monday.


·       Last night the Junior Girls Volleyball team completed their journey as they won the SWOSSA title by dominating and beating Ursuline College from Chatham in three games 25 - 12, 25 - 12, 25 - 16. The girls finish the season as champs and with an undefeated record which is no easy feat. Congratulations on a fantastic season and best of luck to those grade 10's moving up to senior next year. Mrs. Burke and Mr. Zajacz are extremely proud to be Wildcats and to have had the opportunity to coach this group of fine young ladies.


·       Any student who is interested in submitting a creative writing piece to be considered for the OECTA Creative Writing Competition, please bring your submission to Mr. Janisse in Prep Room #6 by Monday, Feb. 27th at 2:15 pm.  The following are the categories for submission: Short Stories, Poems, Plays, and Nonfiction for two divisions (Grade 9-10 students) and (Grade 11-12 students).  Thank you.  Mr. Janisse


·       Attention all junior students trying out for badminton tonight there is a junior practice for boys only. Please make you way to the gym right after school to set up. Next week junior practice will take place on Tuesday and Thursday girls will be at 2:30 and junior boys at 4:00. Senior practice will continue on Monday and Wednesday of next week at 4:00.


·       Yesterday, despite carrying much of the play, and hitting two crossbars, the boys' hockey team couldn't catch a bounce, and lost 2-1 to Holy Names.  The team wishes goodbye to graduating veterans: Dan Pignanelli, Jake Deluca, Bryce McGregor, Lucas DiLuca, and Captains Jake Menard, Curtis Cunningham and Ernie Godden.  On a bright note, all of the seniors graduate with at least one WECSSAA championship and an OFSAA silver medal. 


·       Congratulations to all swimmers who participated in SWOSSAA yesterday at the Aquatic center. All swimmers did a great job representing VILLANOVA, we are so proud of your efforts. Congratulations to Luca Chiandussi, and Billy Griebe, who will continue to OFSSAA!


  • Reminder to track and field participants, practices begin on MONDAY after school. Anyone who missed sign up yesterday, and would like to participate in Track and Field, please see Ms Burke in room 111 on your lunch today.
