·      Potential Graduates, the graduation composites have arrived and are ready for pick up.  If you have ordered and paid for a composite, you may pick it up from the main office until the end of day today.   We ask that students do this before or after school or during their lunch.

·      Attention all Grade 12 Students:
Valedictorian Nomination forms are now available at the Main Office. Please feel free to get one on your free time to nominate a peer, for the privilege of acting as Valedictorian for this year’s graduating class.  The nomination forms are due May 29th by the end of the day.

·      Congratulations to all who participated in the talent show last night.  The show was amazing and all of your gifts were extraordinary. It was a hard choice for all of the judges last night.  The teachers who have seats in today's day show are to report to the auditorium after taking attendance. Please sit in your assigned seats with your class.

·      Attention! All students who signed up to run in next week’s Student Council Elections please meet in the atrium directly following this announcement.

·      And the moment you have all been waiting Friday’s spirit week theme is CANADA DAY BBQ! Wear red and white beach clothes to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday!!! Don't forget to bring in you $5 for full dress downs from Monday May 29th - Thursday June 1st! Just a reminder, Monday is Salad dressing, Grade 9’s are house dressing, Grade 10’s are ranch dressing, Grade 11’s are 1000 Islands, and Grade 12’s are Caesar. Tuesday is our Frat theme, Wednesday is Music Fest, and Thursday is our Canadian BBQ. Friday is relay for life so if you are participating in this you may dress down as well!! WILDCATS GET YOUR VILLY SPIRIT READY BECAUSE NEXT MONDAY MAY 29th will be our last pep rally for 2016-2017 school year!! Can't wait to see all our school spirit next week!

·      Things are getting a little slimy at our next pep rally. Have u ever wanted to just dump a bucket of slime on one of your teachers...what about a classmate? Well now is your chance! On Friday and Monday at lunch we will be selling tickets for $1 for a chance to slime either a teacher or grade 12 student at the pep rally next week!

·      Yesterday, the junior girls soccer team played St Anne's in the semifinal game. Despite controlling the 2nd half and having chances including posts and a crossbar, our girls simply couldn't find the back of the net.  The girls played tough to the very end and represented Villanova with class and determination. Great season girls, we look forward to the years to come!

·      The junior boys soccer league started with 16 teams and is now down to two.  Yesterday Villanova Junior Boys advanced to the wecssaa final with a 1-0 win over Holy Names.  The finals will take place on Monday May 29th at 4pm at St. Annes.  Could all players please report to the phys.ed hallway immediately following this announcement for a brief but very important team meeting. 

·      Good luck to Natalia Glaz next week as she represents Villanova at the OFSAA tennis tournament in Toronto.

·      Hey Wildcats, today is the last day to register for our Relay For Life Event which is being held next Friday. If you have not already registered, be sure to see one of our Relay committee members in the atrium during your lunch today. Join us next Friday as we gather on the field to share in the "fun with a purpose"!

·      Attention student athletes save the date the athletic banquet is on Tuesday June 13.  Those athletes who have not yet paid there athletic fee are asked to do so ASAP and before Friday of this week.  If you do not pay your athletic fee your ticket price for the banquet will be 20$.  Tickets can be picked up and/or purchased for family and friends at a cost of 20$  starting June 1-June 8th.  No exceptions!  Looking forward to celebrating the many wildcat athletic successes of 2016/2017.

·      There is still room on the bus for students to travel to Stratford this Wednesday, May 31st to see Romeo and Juliet. Please see Mrs. Bondy in Room 217 if you would like to go and have not yet handed in your permission form.

·       Yesterday, the junior girl’s soccer team competed in 3 games of tournament play. They won 2 of the 3 games. The team was lead by Ashley Rogers in net and received goals from many different players. Scoring for Villanova were were Brooke Gibson, Bella Siljanovski, Renee Neuts, Annalise Gignac, Kayla Macera and Jordan Mizon.  The girls will continue on to the quarterfinals next Tuesday.  Way to go girls!

·       Congratulations go out to the Sr. Girls soccer team for winning their semi-final match against Belle River yesterday by a score of 5-0. Goals were supplied by Mikayla Paesano, Isabella Kaschalk, Kristen Swiatoschik, and Sofia Bellaire with two. Alessandra Schembri posted the shutout. Please wish the girls luck as they take on St. Anne's for the WECSSAA championship tomorrow afternoon at McHugh Park.

·       Yesterday the girl’s softball team improved their record to 7 and 1 with a 7-1 victory over Cardinal Carter. Strong defense by Alyssa Matton and clutch hitting by Kim Primeval and a three run home run by Avery Mertz sealed the victory. Our next game is Thursday against Kingsville

·       Attention Grade 12 students! Senior shirts will be on SALE this Thursday, Friday and last day to order will be Tuesday the 23rd. The shirts are $20 dollars, and will be on display in the atrium on both lunches! Check out the design on twitter!

·       Those students writing the Avogadro Chemistry Exam tomorrow are reminded to report to room 204 immediately after first lunch.

·       Attention students travelling to Stratford to see Romeo and Juliet: Tomorrow is the last day to hand in money and permission forms to Mrs.Bondy in Room 217.

·       This Friday in the LCC during both lunches, students are invited to be part of our CANADA 150 video.  Tell us why you are proud to be a Canadian and stay tuned for our video to be shown on June first.

  • Hey hey what can we say the La Nova Villa Cafe is open today. Jusa reminder that the cafe is only open Wednesday and Thursday of every week, not Monday, Tuesday or Friday's. Today we are offering our Homemade Pizza, Quesadillas, and Penne Al Forno with Meat Sauce.

·      Just a reminder to those who signed up for the Chem news competition this year. The exam will be written on May 11, during period three. Please see Mr. Cuckovic to confirm.

·      The boys baseball team improved their record to 5 - 1 on the season as they defeated Essex 3 - 0.  Jordan Gaudette, Curtis Cunningham and Cole Lepine combined to throw a one hitter.  The boys play again today against Massey at 3pm here at Villanova.  Come on out to support the team.

·      Junior boys Soccer practice is tonight Tuesday May 9th at 4pm - be changed and ready to go early.  Anyone participating in today’s WECSSAA track meet or who can not attend must see Mr Crep in the phys.ed office prior to the end of the day.

·      This is the last week to audition for the talent show. If you would like to participate see Mrs. Brunet in the music room on your lunch to book an appointment to audition.

·       All students are invited to take part in a field trip to Stratford to see Romeo and Juliet. The cost is $57. Please see Mrs. Bondy in Room 217 for a permission form or to return completed permission forms and money.


·       This is a reminder that the Social Justice Club will be meeting in Room 208 after school today.


·       The LCC will be closed today from noon until the end of the day as students will be using it to write the Sir Isaac Newton exam.  Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.


·       The junior boys soccer team beat Cardinal Cardinal, Holy Names and Assumption yesterday in the league tournament.  Boys are reminded of practice on friday at 4pm -  if you cannot attend you must see Mr. Crep.


·       The La Nova Villa Cafe will be closed for today. Sorry for any inconvenience.


·       The boys baseball team improved their record to 4 - 1 on the season.  The team defeated Holy Name by a score of 10 -4 behind solid pitching by Matt Lepine, Alec Boucher and Josh Evans.  Curtis Cunningham and Hunter Dent provided two hits each to power the offence.

·       This is a reminder that the Social Justice Club will be meeting in Room 208 after school today.


·       Congratulations to those Villanova Track and Field athletes who participated in the University of Windsor Lancer meet this past Saturday. Allyson Thomas came away with 2 top 5 finishes, 5th in the 100m and 3rd in the long jump. Katarina Pawley Mason had a busy day running the 400, 800, and 1500 meter races ,finishing 5th in the 1500m and 3rd in th 800m.  Mattia Tortorici ran a very strong 100m, winning her heat and finishing 5th overall. Seniors Mandy Brunet and Connor Sloan put in very good performances in their races with Connor finishing 5th in the 800m and Mandy placing 3rd in the 100m hurdles. Congratulations everyone


·       The WiredCats Robotics team represented Villanova and WECDSB with pride this weekend at the World Championships in St. Louis,  Missouri.  Although the WiredCats did not make it into the final alliances, they finished in 10th place on the Curie field of 68 robots. The WiredCats also received the Judges Award in the Curie / Darwin division for the design of our copper robot. Congratulations to the entire team on an incredible season and a very special thank you to our graduating WiredCats for their commitment and dedication to the team.

·       We can't wait to see how far we go next year!


·       Congratulations to the Sr. Boys soccer team on their 3-1 win over Catholic Central. Joe Lappalainen, Chris Spadafora and Avery Grondin scored for the Wildcats. Dylan Langlois and Frank Tomasovics anchored the defence. Well done boys! Practice tonight at 4pm.


·       Congratulations to Santee Fallea, Jennifer Hawkins and Megan Trotter who participated in SWOSSAA junior badminton Thursday in Sarnia.  All showed excellent skill and team work throughout the day.  Congratulation to Megan Trotter who ended her day by placing 4th.  Team would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs.  Baltrusiunas who drove the team to Sarnia and spent the day cheering and supporting our athletes.....Thank you Mrs!


·       Junior boys soccer practice is tonight at 4 pm.  First league tournament is this Wednesday May 3rd in Tecumseh. 


·       Hey Wildcats, watch out for student council members giving away registration forms on both lunches for our very own dodgeball tournament! Forms will be handed out today only, while tuesday-friday will be registration & sign ups. Money must be paid in full at the time of registration. It is $10 per person and there is a maximum number of 10 people per team (including team manager + coaches). The tournament will be held on May 9th. Grade 9 & 10's will be playing in the morning and grade 11 & 12's will be playing in the afternoon. ·       Congratulations to the Villanova Model UN team for their excellent representation as delegates in the 2017 University of Windsor Model UN Conference this weekend!  Our six delegates did an excellent job and recieved awards; Brandon Meloche; Best position paper in the Security Council, Cordelia Beluli Honourable mention on her position paper, Matteo Desando Honourable mention for CBC International Press Committee, and Billy Bunegra's Joint Crisis participation, Jake Racicot in Central American Migration Crisis and Zoe Gignac as page and junior news reporter. Congratulations for your dedication and participation!! You made us proud!


·       On Tuesday, May 2 from 10 AM to 1:30 PM, those students who are the age of 17, or older, will have an opportunity to “Get Swabbed”.  Volunteers from the Katelyn Bedard Bone Marrow Association will be in the Learning Commons Area to assist you in completing a Health & Consent form and will direct you how to swab the inside of your cheeks.  The entire process takes about 10 – 15 minutes, but you never know – you could be a match for someone in desperate need of a bone marrow or stem cell transplant.
Our event is in honour of Madalayna Ducharme, an 8-month old child in our community who recently found a match. Please help the over 800 other Canadians who are also looking for a match.  So if you are between 17 or older bring your ID on Tuesday and listen for the announcements calling your first intial of your last name. You will then have an opportunity to be on the registry to possibly save a life.


·       Students are invited to go to Stratford on Wednesday May 31st to see Romeo and Juliet. Tickets are $57 which includes the bus and the show. Permission forms will be available through Mrs. Bondy in Room 217 in the morning and outside the cafeteria at the beginning of lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday. Seats on the bus will be reserved only when money and permission form are submitted, so please get them in. See Mrs. Bondy in Room 217 with any questions.

·       Potential Graduates.  Thursday, April 27th was the last day for you to submit your 100 or more community service hours to student services to be recognized at graduation with a silver cord.  The list of recipients has been posted on the glass outside of the Learning Commons Centre.


·       Students, today will be the last day to hand in your midterm report card response form with parental signature to the main office.  If you have it in your locker, please be sure to hand it in to the office today as they will not be accepted after today.


·       Teachers - If you have any in your pocession, please be sure to hand these in to the main office today.
